Valentine’s Day is my absolute favorite holiday. If someone asked me why, I think the simple answer is because it makes me feel pretty lol. Seriously, it’s never had anything to do with cupid or romance as I’ve yet to truly experience romantic love. Which is painfully ironic because I am a lover girl to my core. But I think I’ve always been a few steps ahead of reframing the day as an outward expression of the things that make me feel tingly and sweet inside. For me, that’s doing things that nurture my heart.

This past weekend I went to the cutest Galentine’s Day brunch with one of my meetup groups. A black owned bookstore/cafe in Conyers, Georgia called The Book Cellar. The entire place is so cute and refreshing as soon as you walk in you’re met with captivating aesthetics. Each room is uniquely designed and draws your attention in a beautifully poetic way and somehow still seamlessly connects to one another.

It’s easy to get lost in the the book rooms as they have such a wide selection. Also really tempting to take cute selfies because they have incredible lighting 🙂 I never visit a small business without supporting and this year I made a commitment to myself to read more so of course I had to grab a couple novels.

My favorite room was this little nook in the corner with seating and an incredible view. The store is located right next to a railroad and something about watching a train pass through the windows made me feel like I was in a time capsule in a different era on a cute little mysterious adventure.

Brunch was light and delicious. The cafe area is small and intimate, perfect for a quiet little bite or even a cute date. The venue also hosts special events throughout the year, I’ll definitely be back. We had to choose our menu selection ahead of the meetup (I’m assuming to accommodate the group, they have a separate menu for regular cafe patrons). I chose the Grilled Cheese & Soup for my starter which was a welcomed pairing with the cold weather. For my entree I had Lemon Lox (brined salmon on a toasted cream cheese bagel) I’ve never had a raw version of salmon like this before so it was truly an experience for my palate. I probably wouldn’t order it again but it actually wasn’t bad at all. For dessert I had the Mixed Berry Shortcake which was absolutely tasty!

We also kept the spirits flowing with an unlimited mimosa bar. Who doesn’t love mimosas?!

You know an outing is never complete without a few cute photo ops. My first meetup with these ladies was definitely fun and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

If one things for certain I’m always gonna have my eyes closed in at least 4/5 photos lol!
